Everyone then made their way to church for our Leavers' Service. I would like to thank everyone for their kind words, cards and generous gifts. I am going to miss you all and I wish everyone at Bleasdale every success for the future.

http://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/images/1024x1024s/news/P1040562.JPGFri, 15 Jul 2016 21:41:47 GMTSports Dayhttp://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-06-30-sports-dayhttp://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-06-30-sports-day
Bleasdale were joined by Winmarleigh children for another great day of outdoor activities. During the morning our Team Theme coaches Alex and Ryan organised some great team games. At lunchtime we all enjoyed a delicious Bleasdale lunch and then an opportunity to play together.

After lunch our children were divided into teams named after some Euro 2016 teams (randomly selected!) They moved around several activities to earn points for their team. Following a spot of refreshment the afternoon finished with traditional track events - egg and spoon, skipping and sprinting.

The rain held off and everyone had great fun. Thanks to all parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends who came to cheer us on.

{gallery:Sports day 2016}
http://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/images/1024x1024s/news/DSC_0090.JPGThu, 30 Jun 2016 21:41:39 GMTDen Dayhttp://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-06-21-den-dayhttp://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-06-21-den-day
{gallery:Den Day}
http://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/images/1024x1024s/news/P1050844(1).JPGTue, 21 Jun 2016 10:20:36 GMTNew lottery funded playhttp://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-05-27-new-lottery-funded-playhttp://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-05-27-new-lottery-funded-play
At the end of the first half of the summer term children in Class 1 enjoyed a Pirate Day. They received coaching in the skills required to play handball and this was followed by the opportunity to try out their skills in two games. Although there was no time for every team to play against each other, and so no overall winner,our team won both their games.

The rules of handball are similar to basketball, played with a smaller ball. The main difference is that points are gained by throwing the ball into the opponents goal (we used crash mats as the targets). Handball is very popular in northern and eastern Europe and is a great game.

{gallery:Handball}
http://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/images/1024x1024s/news/DSC_0264.JPGThu, 10 Mar 2016 22:31:18 GMTMartin Merehttp://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-03-02-martin-mere-1http://bleasdale.lancs.sch.uk/news/latest/2016-03-02-martin-mere-1
On Wednesday 2 March we visited the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust site at Martin Mere, with our friends from Winmarleigh.
